We are excited to welcome you to the 2024 Winter Clerk Conference December 11-13, 2024, in Flowood, MS. As you make your plans for attending below & attached you will find several items that will help make this conference a great event.

Pre-Conference Workshop-Ten Soft Skills You Need- Wednesday 1:00-3:00
Participants who pre-registered will take part in the Pre-Conference Workshop-Ten Soft Skills You Need before the conference starts on Wednesday. This workshop is offered free of charge as a valuable opportunity for a new presenter to gain experience. It’s also a fantastic chance to earn additional education points that count toward the MS CMC, MS CDMCC, IIMC CMC, and MMC certifications.
Committee Meetings Wednesday 3:00-4:00
The association committee meetings will be held on Wednesday at 3:00. Please contact your committee chair to see if your committee will be meeting.
New Clerk Orientation Meet & Greet-Wednesday 4:00 p.m.
Are you a new clerk with less than 1 year of experience? Is this your first time attending the conference? Please plan to attend the new clerk meet & greet on Wednesday at 4:00. During this time, the association will hold an orientation and give out the highly sought-after welcome bags. You must have indicated your status on your registration.
Welcome Reception-Wednesday 5:00-6:30
All conference attendees are needed as we officially kick off the conference with the Welcome Reception. The evening will be a great time to network. Each participant will have a complimentary drink ticket along with light refreshments. The most exciting part of the evening will be the “Holiday Sock Swap”. Please see the invitation below.
50/50 Raffle-Bring some extra cash to try your luck in the 50/50 raffle sponsored by the Clerks Association. New this year, the committee will be raffling a Coach Handbag filled with gift cards! The drawings will take place on Friday morning.
Thursday Night Social-Country Christmas at 7:30
The highlight of the conference will be the Thursday Night Social. This event will feature Aa’Keela & The Beats a high-energy party band with a diverse catalog that includes Motown, Pop, funk, R&B, jazz, rock, gospel, and more. Make plans to enjoy an early dinner and return for music, desserts, and fun! Each participant will have a complimentary drink ticket. A contest will be held for the best dressed Cowboy and Cowgirl. Education
The Thursday education sessions will be the required Mississippi Secretary of State Election Training to conduct the 2025 Municipal Elections. To be certified you must attend the entire training. A learning assessment will also be required at the completion of the training. A non-election training session will be offered on Friday morning.
Promotional Items for Sale
The promotion committee will be accepting orders & payment at the event for promotional items. Please refer to the email sent November 8, 2024.
Shelia Heath Fund
The association will be collecting donations for the Shelia Heath Fund. This fund is for purchasing floral arrangements/plants for MMCCA members and their immediate family members.
Frequently Asked Questions
- I will be bringing a guest can they participate in the meals? Guests are welcome but must pay the full registration fee. No onsite registration will be accepted.
- What is the dress code? The dress is business casual for the education events. We highly recommend bringing a jacket to be comfortable during the event.
- What meals are included in my registration? Thursday-Continental Breakfast and Lunch. Friday-Breakfast. All other meals are on your own.
